Just a mug
It is not uncommon to come across exhausting product titles and details during the holiday season. To best accommodate users, keep it simple.
Goals:
Eliminate redundancy
Omit useless words
Don’t over communicate
Solution:
Remove majority of the descriptors, it is just a mug.
Relocate dimensions to be in the same container as “Material”, “Color”, “Brand”, “Item Weight” and “Capacity”.
Where’s the food?
Local restaurants often have sites that are informative, but not focused on the user.
Goals:
Be user-oriented
Call to action
Meaningful headings
Solution:
Eliminate “Welcome to Pho 63”. The hero image on the get’s the job done.
Emphasis “Open for Dine-in and Take-out”. During COVID-19 customers need this valuable information.
Add a Menu button. After being told about the food, I want to SEE the food.
Sign Up vs 10% Off
It seems that majority of websites these days ask you to sign up with an account, or subscribe to a newsletter upon entering it. Yet most don’t think twice about the language used.
Goals:
Lead with the main point
Stay positive
Be concise
Avoid showing all details up front
Focus on microcopy
Solution:
Lead with the discount, people like saving money
Remove “Step 1 of 2”, too many details
Focus on the user by using “you” “your”
